Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
In Matthew 7 we are told not to Judge one another.
.
1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
1Co 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
Here we are told to Judge.
So what’s the difference is this a contradiction?
In Matthew 7 Jesus speaks about not judging one another on individual terms. If you read the chapter you will realize that the context is individuals judging one another.
In 1 Corinthians Paul speaks about judging as a collective group. In 1Cor5:12 he states do not ye judge them that are within? If you look who “ye” is in the context it is clearly the local Church.
1Co 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
So the context is different and the judging is not the same. So we should not judge one another but as a collective group we can judge those in a local Church. Judging here just simply means to make a decision as to what the local Church should do with this person
